Peace of Angkor was set up by English photographer Dave Perkes and his good friend, Khmer tour guide Mr. Ta Elit in 2003.
From humble beginnings running photo tours for local guests and friends; we have developed into a mature tour organization specialising in small group photo, adventure and educational tours.
We operate mainly in the Angkor region and the north of Cambodia, but have led tours throughout the country. We are recognised worldwide as the premier specialist photo tour operator in Cambodia.
We are licenced by the Cambodia Ministry of Tourism as a registered international tour operator.
Our philosophy
We know that if you are on holiday; you want to be taken away from the realities of working life. Cambodia is still an incredible experience and most people who visit are touched by the kindness and humility of the people here.
Our Peace of Angkor Crew and partners are dedicated to make your visit to Cambodia an experience you will never forget.
Responsible tourism
When we tour In a developing country such as Cambodia - a country that relies on tourism to a great extent, responsible tourism takes a lot more than just being careful not to leave litter. We are committed to sustainable tourism both for our staff and for the communities we work with. These are some of the policies we have: Staff. Our internal office staff are all Cambodian nationals. They are kept in employment throughout the year, even during low season. Their salaries are significantly higher than the typical Khmer employee Our outside tour staff and drivers are also all Cambodian nationals. They have been educated to a very good standard of spoken and written English. When we tour in different parts of Cambodia - whenever possible we will use local guides and transportation.
Charitable support
In addition to our ongoing support of two local charities; The Trailblazer Foundation, a local NGO which specialises primarily in clean water supply in rural villages and The Angkor Association for the Disabled, we operate specialist tour programmes to local Charities (NGO's) and schools. We donate a percentage of our tour income directly to the establishments we visit..
We are always willing to help guests who wish to find out more about these and other registered charities in Siem Reap. We also have first-hand practical experience with volunteer projects and can advise of local opportunities within Siem Reap Province.
