Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, has a wealth of interest for the visitor and photographer.
From the old colonial city of Yangon through the wonderful landscapes of the Inle Lake and the Fabulous temple city of Bagan; you will see some of the most photogenic countries in Asia.

Yangon

The old city of Rangoon, now Yangon, has at its heart the magnificent Shwedagon Stupa. Said to be clad in 60 tons of Gold; it is fabulous by day;  but after dark it is a glittering gold spectacle.
The are many impressive Buddhist sights and a lot of old British Colonial buildings including some  fine Victorian Gothic churches and vibrant markets.

Bagan

The Ancient city of Bagan has over 3500 Brick stupas, many are over 1000 years old. To see the panorama of these temples post dawn, with the backdrop of hills, is one of the most exciting views in South East Asia. The interiors have remarkable paintings and most temples have there Buddha Statues intact.

Free from the repression of the last few decades, there is a sense of openness and freedom that was not possible even a year ago. The country is changing fast with new economic activity and improvements to the infrastructure.

This 13 day tour escorted by Dave Perkes & Local guides;  will take you to the heart of Myanmar.
The emphasis is on people photography as well as amazing Architecture.  We will take you to locations which few tourists and photographers get to see.

25th March: Arrival Yangon and Airport transfer.
26th March: Yangon – Yangon ‐  early morning shoot at Chaukhtatgyi Buddha and Kalaywatawya monastery before the lunch time at 1100am. In the afternoon visit Chinatown markets, Botataung and Sule Pagoda. We shoot at great Shwedagon before sunset tosee the golden light as darkness falls.
27th March:  Bago  -drive to Bago, 80km north of Yangon. Shoot at Kyakhatwein monastery and Bago local market. Then visit to major pagodas in Bago for the rest of the afternoon return to Yangon early evening
28th March: Yangon to Mandalay
Yangon – fly to Mandalay at about 0615am. Meet local guide at the airport; check in to hotel with rest of morning free.Mandalay city shoots at Shwe Kyaung, the world biggest books, and Mandalay hill top at sunset
29th March: Mandalay – Mandalay – full day out of Mandalay: morning shoot at gold beating place, another local market, andMahagandaryon monastery – then drive to Inwa jetty for short ferry boat ride and horse cart ride to Bagayar monastery to shoot at novices and kids in the monastic school –drive to Sagaing for nunnery shoot at Zay Yar Theingi Kyaung, crescent‐ shaped U‐ Min Thoneze paya and panoramic views from Soon‐ U‐ Ponnya‐ shin – sunset shoot from U Bein footbridge  
30th March:  Train ride to Pyin Oo Lwin Mandalay ‐  car transfer to the train station and take 4am train to former British hill station of Pyin Oo Lwin . The train climbs to 3500ft zig zaging up a mountainside to the plateau. The trackside life is a photographer and video filmmakers dream. We take a horse drawn stage coach tour to see the colonial era buildings Chinese temple and Kandawgyi parks.,We stay overnight in small hotel in the town.
31st March: Pyin Oo Lwin to Inle Lake - We drive back to Mandalay airport and fly to Heho; transfer to hotel in Nyaungshwe. We have an
afternoon at leisure to explore the town pagodas and Market.
1st April: Inle Lake ‐  Leave hotel early for Inn Dein market shoot this morning and visit to the impressive ruins of Shwe Inn Thein pagoda and other remaining highlights – return to Nyaungshwe in the afternoon.
2nd April: Inle Lake ‐  we have a scenic excursion to the extreme south of Inle Lake to explore the forgotten Shan Kingdom ruins of Sagar and Tarkaung . We see village life the floating gardens and a rice winery.
3rd April: Inle Lake ‐ Bagan We have the morning in Nyaungshwe free and easy shoots in and around the town – car to the Heho airport at about 2pm and fly to Bagan – transfer to the hotel and sunset shoot if times available
4th April: Bagan –full day shoots** Early morning sunrise  from Damaya Zaka.  Highlights include: Law Ka Dak Shawaung, Pahtothar Myar and the beautiful Ananda with its gold

5th April: Mt Popa   Bagan ‐ drive outside Bagan to see countryside. Shoot at toddy farmhouse, and a typical Burmese village. Then drive to Kyaukpadaung to shoot at typical Burmese market. Then drive to Mt Popa, study the Popa spirit shrines and panoramic view from the top – return to Bagan in the late afternoon
6th April: Fly to Yangon- Fly to Yangon in the morning for afternoon flights with the option of Siem Reap extension. Airport transfers to Yangon for those not flying back on day 14

Pricing; Due to high demand at peak season many hotels are improving facilities and raising prices.  Flights are also subject to change.
We  do encourage you ask  for a quote and to book early.
These Tours can be arranged for couples, Families or groups with or without photo tuition.

Visas
As of  August  2012 those who fly by MYI Airways can get a visa on arrival. Otherwise you will need to apply for Visa in advance.

Bring Cash USD in mint condition if its not new it wont be accepted. Credit Cards are not accepted and there are no ATMs for foreigners
