To introduce you to the amazing country of Nepal I have a selection of shots here
Annapurna Images by Dave Perkes taken in the Mid 1990s
I went to the Annapurna area in January 1996 with two Minolta camera bodies and 30 rolls of slide film. That was all I could carry (and afford) I had to ration myself to 18 imges per day. this concentrates the mind somewhat. One needed to be very confident in ones` photo skills then as there was no LCD Screen. The route took in almost every kind of Himalyain Landscape from Sub tropical with palm and banans trees in the valleys, spectacular terracing to upland forests and over the watershed to the dry barren Mustang region. Being Winter the snow at the highest parts of the trek precluded a visit to the Buddhist centre of Muktinath; but the sensational extra days at other worldly village of Kagbeni almost made up for it .
After seeing Bruno's fantastic prints at his exhibition in Siem Reap this year; I was very excited to join his trip to this area again. The images I have posted here, were all taken on the route of Bruno's planned photo tour in October. If you want to go; book early as places are limited to 6 persons only.
