Preah Vihear

A superb adventure taking in the incredible mountain temple of Preah Vihear and some of the Khmer Rouge strongholds at Anlong Veng.
Ancient and recent Khmer history combines in this exciting tour. Set on the edge of a 550metre cliff on the Dangrek Mountains on the Thai Border.
Preah Vihear is a spectacular sight! Extending for over 700 metres on the top of the Dangrek Mountains it has the most spectacular location of all the ancient Khmer Temples.
We return to Siem Reap via the ancient temple city of Koh Ker.

Detailed itinerary:

Preah Vihear

Day 1
Drive from Siem Reap via Anlong Veng with the option to visit Banteay Srey and Kbal Spean. We visit the house of Tamok (the butcher) and grave of Pol Pot (optional)  We continue in the afternoon to Preah Vihear. 
We can enjoy the views of the temple in the evening light as before sundown*. Overnight accommodation is in a small hotel at Sray Em 20kms from Preah Vihear
*visiting times can be varied at short notice by the  authorities so sunset or sunrise cannot always be guaranteed.

Day 2
We drive to the Ancient city of Koh Ker. has around  hundred ruined temples including a huge stepped pyramid; the largest in the region. More ancient temples are being found in the jungle; so there is a true sense of discovery here. We return to Siem Reap in the late afternoon
