We run this tour as a standalone tour, or an optional add on, for any of our other tours.
It is a fabulous opportunity to see some of the diverse bird species, drawn to the fishing grounds on the Tonle Sap Lake during the dry season.
The best time to visit is during the period November through March, when the bird life is at its best.

Some of the Birds which can be seen in Cambodia and Prek Toal bird Sanctuary are listed below.
This list is just a sample of what can be seen on the lake and on land in the Angkor Area.

We have an early departure at around 5am from Siem Reap. We drive to the boat port on the Tonle Sap, where we board a boat to take us across the north of great Tonle Sap Lake to Prek Toal village.

We then transfer to a government boat at the environment centre.

Early in the season we can take a boat right into the heart of the mangroves to a tree top hide. We can see the
thousands of storks and other birds nesting in the trees.

As the water levels drop during the season; we see the birds fishing on the lake in vast numbers. It is truly one of the wonders of South East Asia.

We return to Siem reap around mid- afternoon.
